Sleepover Wednesday/ Thursday

Sleepover

When I got home I was soooooo hyped. I took a shower, made sure I have everything I needed (sort of) and played on my devices. When I got there everybody was sitting down doing roll call. After roll call Aidan went to go grab his bed and get it next to my bed. I said “Wooooooooooow Aidan do you have to do that?” He said “Yup”. Caleb also put his bed beside me as well but I think he just got there then he put his bed somewhere random.

After a while we talked about loads of random stuff. We all set up our beds then we all had supper. I had chocolate cake and something else then we had hot chocolate (didn’t really taste like it though, I think it was molten chocolate). Lavinia and Caleb kept going on my bed and it was a bit annoying…

After we all had something to eat and drink we played a game called Spotlight. I have never heard of it before so I decided to play it. Me, Aidan and Caleb teamed up but Issac tagged along. We all ran outside around 8:00 PM and I felt like I was running for my life for some reason.

We were only allowed on concrete so we went near the field. Issac and Caleb were saying there is a clown at the other side of the field, near the gate. They ran off then me, Aidan and Caleb got split up looking for them. While I was running I found Lennox.

We both teamed up and hid near the field again but this time we hid behind the building that had only a little bit of concrete behind it. Loads of people ran past us (some of them ran across the field but they weren’t supposed to). We heard a loud bell coming from the hall so we had to go back. We played another game but this one was the real one, 2 people were the taggers while everyone else ran.

Me, Aidan and Rhiannon teamed and we promised we wouldn’t run away from each other. We hid near the front where the lost and found stuff is. Cyrus was behind the sign (sort of climbing it) and he gave me a heart attack. Some people were hiding behind the bin.

Me, Aidan and Rhiannon walked near the little adventure and Rhiannon was so scared, she said “I’m scared I don’t want to be near the field because people are saying there are clowns”. I said “if we actually see it which we won’t I will punch them”. Rhiannon ran off because she heard a sound and got scared. Me and Aidan looked back where Rhiannon was and she disappeared.

We found lennox (again) and we hid at the corner and we were panting. We heard a slow walking loud noise and we saw a shadow figure. We all stopped breathing loudly and went super super quiet. Then the shadow figure walked away.

We ran off to the other side and heard a siren then we sprinted all the way to the hall. It was so fun because it was scary, it was also my first time outside playing around 8:00 PM. We all talked again then watched a movie called “The Flubber”. It was boring….we watched half of it then had 5 minutes to brush out teeth, get in our PJ’s and get comfortable in our beds. Me, Aidan and Caleb were planning to stay up and do stuff, I was planning to eat my subway that I didn’t eat for supper. Caleb fell asleep and he was snoring. Me and aidan stayed up for half an hour but Aidan fell asleep.

When they were both asleep I decided to sleep as well (because I had no chance of eating because the teachers were up and guarding for a long time). We woke up and packed up our stuff and put it in our class rooms. We talked about the sleepover and started sliding on the big mat thingy. Econa came over when we all packed up and we said “aww you should’ve been here it was fun”

Wednesday - Te Papa/ Nga Taonga

Te Papa/ Nga Taonga

On Wednesday I went on a school trip to Te Papa. When we got there we had to sit down and have morning tea. When we got inside we all got separated into groups. We had to walk all the way up to the top floor (not the roof).

On the way up me and Aidan were going to the side and looking down, shouting to Warda and Lennox saying: GOOEY! (only Lennox saw us). After that we saw the history of some Māori people like this lady who kills people and eats them if she doesn’t like them. She is a scary and powerful lady. If she likes you that is very good because you would want her by your side.

After that we went to watch this story where this man is running away from these people who are cannibals. One person is able to stand still and look around the place without actually moving and looking around (it’s sort of like he’s psychic or something). Apparently women are able to block that (it’s like magic). We finished watching it and started walking down to the bottom.

Everybody else wasn’t there so we secretly went to the earthquake house….Shhhh…. We went down and saw all the people now. We went outside and Warda kept trying to know what me and Aidan went to (earthquake house) but she couldn’t crack us. We ate our lunch then went on the bus.

We went on the bus and headed to Nga Taonga. We got there and entered this like cinemea or something. We watched black and white videos (old videos). It was boring that I almost fell asleep while watching it.

Aidan and Riki-lee woke me up after a while because they were telling me Ms Smith was taking pictures of the people who were sleeping. I stayed up a little then went back to sleep...sort of….I woke up and saw the part when they were on the coloured videos. We learnt about the history of wellington back before it looked like what it is right now.

We had a little time left so we got to watch funny old ads. We watched the old KFC ad and it was weird. We also watched this other one where this woman is talking to a puppet and they love each other...After we watched those old videos we went back on the bus going back to school.

We got back to class and did the same end of day pack up.

Tuesday - Survival Day

Survival Day

On Tuesday we did Survival Day. I was in group 2 with other people. The first thing we did is to number the 15 things that are important all the way down to useless with miss hills. The theme that we were in was the moon. There was a: Compass, Oxygen, Food containers, water, milk, emergency map, flare and other stuff I don’t remember.

After that we went to Ms Breuss Mcbride’s one which is playing games. First we played knots and crosses. Blue team and yellow team were winning. I was in yellow team.

After a few rounds of that we played skipping stones. It’s where we had to use our imagination to pretend theirs lava on the floor. We had 4 pieces of cardboard and we had to get all the way to the other side without touching the lava. If one person steps in the lava the whole group has to go back except the people that are at the other side.

The boys in my group went to the other side and abandoned the girls while everybody else already got to the other side. We were least successful (we were last). At least it was fun. We all went to sit down and tell Ms Breuss McBride who was great at the games or who was working hard to get their team to win so Ms Breuss McBride could write down their names for “Caught Being Good”.

Then we went to the Whaea Bex’s class where we learnt how to make 2 different kinds of slings, what to do if someone is bleeding badly and if there was a broken foot or a broken arm. After we learnt all that stuff we went to Ms Hollands class where we had to make exercise cube or we could make a card to anyone we chose to write to. For my exercise cube I put down do 5 laps around the field, do the plank for as long as you can, do 20 push ups, do the crab crawl for 2 minutes and do 20 burpees. For the card one I did a card for D’mitrius for helping me if I needed any help on something and for looking out for me.

For the last one we did a poster about being prepared in case a disaster happens. On my poster I put Stay Safe. Around that I put (we have to put down stuff we needed) water, canned food, radio and probably other stuff.

We stopped at around 2:40 PM to go to class then go home at 3:00.

Monday - Aotea Lagoon

Aotea Lagoon

On Monday 21st of November I went on a school trip to Aotea Lagoon. We had to walk all the way there and it was so looonnnnggg, it was very hot as well. When we got there we sat down and had morning tea. After that we went to the Aotea Lagoon park and played for about 2 hours.

I was playing with Aidan, Riki-lee and sometimes Rhiannon. We were climbing up that mini Eiffel tower, playing hide and seek (for a very short time) and pretty much running around the whole park and stuff.  Then had lunch. After we finished eating we went to play again for about a hour and a half.

In that hour and a half we pretty much did the same thing (except hide and seek). We also went on that red spinning thing with Aidan B, Riki-lee and Morgan. Aiden H did come on for a while after we were doing a challenge of who can stay on it the longest without getting sick or anything. Riki-lee and Aidan got a little bit sick so me and morgan were the last ones but they told us we were on it for a bit too long so we got off.

Then we were sharing some moments (like embarrassing moments, awkward moments or funny moments). We went on the slide a little and used our jerseys to go down faster. I didn’t want to go down faster just in case I fell off and bumped my head. We had to go after that because it was almost 3:00.

While we were walking me and Aidan were talking about random stuff (mostly pokemon and roblox). When we got there we put up our chairs and got our bags and left.

Early Māori

What is technology about?

On Wednesday I learnt that in the early Māori days they didn’t have fishing rods they just used their spears to get the fish. I also learnt that moas were there when dinosaurs were there so they are really old. The Māori people killed a lot of moa so there were not enough moa baby’s so the moas became extinct. I also learnt that the way to pronounce moa is to say more.

In the early Māori days they had one house that only had one room. When they had to go toilet they didn’t use a toilet instead they used the bush. If there food is in front of the toilet and the toilet has no door then they are not allowed to go toilet, they had to go outside. Moa can be very tall. Moas have a lot of materials and food.

Moas can be about 3 feet tall. In the old days they didn’t use bricks, concrete, cement and other stuff. They used certain rocks to make fire. They used wakas to travel across the ocean. New Zealand was called Middle Zealand or Aotearoa.

In the old days they would use chiefs heads (that had Mokos or tattoos on their face)

Olympic Silhouette Art

Here is my Olympic silhouette art. This is how you make one. The things you need are: vivid, glue, A3 paper, pencil, something to print the silhouette with, silhouette, pastels, newspaper or magazines, scissors and a ruler. You can do this portrait or landscape. 1. first you get an A3 paper 2. Get a pencil and and create a box that is in the middle (6cm and 4cm) 3. Then you go on the Internet and look for an Olympic silhouette that you like then print it out and cut it out. 4. Draw a pattern for the background with a pencil then get a vivid to go over it then colour it in with pastel. 5.Glue your silhouette in the box then rip up pieces of newspaper or magazines. 6. Glue the paper on (collage) that only has black and white letters on the outside of the box. 7. Use your vivid and write Olympics at the top and write whatever sport you chose at the bottom.

Space Presentation

I decided to do a slide about space facts because I am really interested in space and I love learning more about it. I had questions like: How was space made? How were the planets Made? How was the sun there in the first place? And other questions. I found it really fun when I was making the slide. It was also fun finding out more information about space. I found out a lot of things like: Jupiter has the most moons, Jupiter has the biggest moon, Uranus has rings but they are faint and more stuff. I am proud of my space slide. Here is my slide.

This is my space project. It is Jupiter. It's a balloon that has paper and paint on it. I just glued the paper on then I painted it.

Whanaungatanga

This is my Whanaungatanga. It is colourful. There are manaakitanga words like respect, hospitality, trust, faith, manners and supportive. Whanaungatanga means a family belonging/connection/feeling/sense. It's like a friend belonging to a group of friends.
